Magadheera became the biggest hit of the year when it released in 2009. The movie, that was made on a budget of ₹350 million, earned ₹1.5 billion worldwide and remained the highest-grossing Telugu film of all time for five years. Later, the Ram Charan and Kajal Aggarwal starrer was surpassed by Attarintiki Daredi in 2013.

However, it came as a shock for many that an actress rejected the Rajamouli SS directorial. The movie that won everybody’s hearts was rejected by actress Archana and now she regrets it. In an interview with a daily, the Nenu actress expressed her resentment over not accepting the role in Magadheera.

She said, “After making my debut as lead heroine with Naresh's Nenu, I made the biggest mistake of my career by playing a supporting role in Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantana. I feel that mistake killed my heroine chances in tollywood. I used to cry everyday on that film's sets. After that film, Rajamouli sir approached with the offer of Magadheera. Fearing it was another supporting role, I rejected it and that was the second biggest mistake of my life. Had I done that film, I might have played the lead role in his Maryada Ramanna as well. I wanted to ask apology to Rajamouli”.

The actress was last seen in a 2015 Telugu psychological thriller film, Lion.
