It Has A Political Touch To It But It’s Not A Political Film: Director Upendra Madhav About MLA

Tollywood flick Manchi Lakshanlunna Abbayi or MLA is all set to hit the theatres this Friday on March 23. The film stars Kalyan Ram and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles. Touted to be a drama film, the film will be bankrolled by Kiran Reddy and Bharath Chowdary under Blue Planet Entertainments banner. The film is being helmed by debutant director Upendra Madhav.

The film’s teaser and trailer have created a wave in the audience and they cannot wait long to see the film. Talking about the film, the filmmaker said, “Fans will not be disappointed. There are four songs in the film, shot in Azerbaijan, a country of pristine beauty, at locations hitherto untouched by any filmmaker. The visuals coupled with Mani Sharma’s music will be extremely pleasing to the eye. And the action episodes, especially a fight sequence at a ‘glass factory’ set, will stand out. MLA will be the perfect start to the summer for movie lovers. It’s a promise”.

He also added that the film has a political touch but it’s not a political film. Talking about the plot of the movie, the debutant director said, “It has a political touch to it but it’s not a political film. The theme revolves around the character of Kalyan (Kalyan Ram) who falls in love with Indu (Kajal) and depicts his attempt to win her heart. It’s a proper commercial entertainer containing all the ingredients typical of a mainstream Tollywood film”. On a related note, Upendra Madhav has earlier worked as a writer for movies like Bruce Lee and Aagadu.
