The honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa passed away at the age of 68 on December 5 in Chennai. It is very shattering for the country to hear the news of Jayalalithaa’s demise. She was hospitalised on September 22 with complaints of fever and dehydration and suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening. After which her health was more critical and she was on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and life support systems.

Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan took to his twitter account and expressed his condolences  over the demise of the late Chief Minister.

Jayalalithaa was not only a politician but she was also a remarkable Indian actress. She made her Telugu debut in the film ‘Manushulu Mamatalu’ opposite Akkineni Nageswara Rao. She acted in nearly 25 Telugu films. She has been paired with leading actors like N T Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Krishna, Jaggiah, and Krishnam Raju and with well-known actresses like Jamuna, Vanisri and Savitri.

She was neither interested in acting nor on entering politics but her mother Sandhya pushed her towards it. “I don't enjoy politics, I am doing my duty to the party, to the people of TN. I was pushed into two high profile professions which I never enjoyed”, she had allegedly revealed. Desimartini extends their condolences for country’s major loss and prays that her soul rests in peace.
