Kamal Haasan Against Jallikattu Ban

Kamal Haasan has always been passionately verbal on issues that he believes in. But when he spoke in support of the banned Jallikattu sport in Tamil Nadu, which animal activists have stated brutal, many people were disappointed and abhorred. Kamal Haasan is persistent in his faith that Jallikattu has a place in the Tamilian socio-cultural environment. 

Kamal said, “It is a sport older than Christ and Buddha. It is not a matador versus bull kind of an unfair and cruel match. The original Tamil name for the sport is called Eru thazhuvudal, meaning embracing the bull. Using any weapons against the bull is considered foul and cowardly.” Taking further on the issue of brutality to animals, Kamal said that lacto-consumption is also a type of cruelty to animal rights.

However, the actor has revealed that he loves the banned bull sport Jallikattu. Also, he has revealed that he was trained to embrace the bull and owned three bulls for a couple of years. Let’s see what happens now, we hope the issue is resolved soon.
