Kamal Haasan movie Vishwaroopam to face ban in Tamil Nadu

Kamal Haasan has been threatened by Tamil Nadu Cinema Theatres Association that all his movies, includingVishwaroopamwill be banned from releasing in Tamil Nadu theatres if he releases his movie on DTH format.

According totheatre owners association's General Secretary Paneerselvam, if this practice is adopted by others in future, it would affect theatres badly and eventually lead to closures. The pirated CDs and new films broadcasted on Television have already negative impacts on movie theatres and now releasing movies on DTH set-up would be the worst one.

Kamal Haasan has planned to release the film in theatres in other states. He would be urged by the association not to give such "step-motherly" treatment to Tamil Nadu theatres. Now, it is to be seen what strategy Haasan takes to sort out the issue.
