Kamal Haasan is always at his best and he proves it again. Recently he has sung a song for composing maestro Ilaiyaraja and that too in a very short notice. The singer assigned to sing the song initially, could not make it on time for recording and the composer immediately went out for Kamal Haasan through his assistant over phone.

Within an hour, the actor reached the spot and the recording was done in merely thirty minutes. The song has been recorded forHappi, starring Pankaj Kapoor, a movie dedicated to Charlie Chaplin. Co-incidentally Chaplin has been a hot favourite of Kamal Haasan.

"It all happened in a flash. We were in Chennai to record thisamazingcomposition titled 'Zindagi Dish' written by Jaideep Sahni. Raja sir (Ilayaraja) was not getting what he wanted. The singer, who was assigned to do the job, wasn't getting it right. Raja sir asked his assistant to contact Kamalji. Within no time Kamalji was in the studio. It took him half an hour to record the song,” director Bhavna Talwar stated. But Kamal didn’t want any hype as it was a routine work for him, "My respect for certain people goes beyond the work place. Shivaji Ganesan, K. Balachander and Ilayaraja are to me, idols. And if they call, I run. As simple as that.”
