It was earlier reported that Sourthern superstar Mahesh Babu would provide support to Farhan Akhtar’s MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination) campaign. The latest news has arrived that the superstar Mahesh has joined the campaign along with Indian cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar.

Both the stars have lent their voice to a poem for the campaign, composed by Farhan's father Javed Akhtar. The poem titled "Jiske Aankhon Mein Hai Jagmagati Hui" will be used as a promotional song for the movement. It will be dubbed in other Indian languages too including Telugu, Bengali and Urdu to increase its reach and connection. While Mahesh has recited the poem in Telugu, Sachin has recorded it for the Marathi version.

As tweeted by Farhan, "#MARD poem recorded in Marathi and Telegu (Telugu) by Sachin Tendulkar and Mahesh Babu. Our voice for equality and end to violence grows stronger.” After the sexual assault and murder of employee Pallavi Purkayastha, Farhan initiated the MARD campaign. He sought support to reinforce women’s safety following the dreadful gang-rape and killing of a Delhi-based physiotherapy student in December 2012.
