Mahesh Babu to unveil Spyder teaser on May 31, film to release on Dussehra

Actor Mahesh Babu’s highly anticipated film Spyder, a spy-thriller being directed by AR Murugadoss, is all set to hit the screens on September 30.

Mahesh Babu confirmed that the film’s teaser will be released on May 31 at 5pm. The makers are currently filming the high-octane action-based climax sequence in Chennai. In the film, Mahesh plays an intelligence bureau officer and he has apparently performed stunts sans body doubles.

“This man has taken it to another league. There’s a particular sequence where even the stunt doubles were scared of doing it. But Mahesh just went ahead and delivered it. Nearly half of the film has been shot in real locations, the remaining being shot in sets. Even on live locations, we have created sets. Spyder has an elegant texture. The story has a lot of relevance to different places. We constructed two important sets in EVP Studios, Chennai, which was quite challenging. Murugadoss sir has given a solid story this time. There will be a fine balance of Indian and international elements,” the film’s production designer Rupin Suchak had said in an earlier interview.

The film, which is being made on an estimated budget of over Rs 100 crore, also stars Rakul Preet Singh and SJ Suryah in important roles. Harris Jayaraj is composing the music. Spyder marks the first time collaboration of Murugadoss and Mahesh Babu.
