Mahesh Babu’s ‘Brahmotsavam’ Gets Decent Opening

Mahesh Babu’s much awaited film ‘Brahmotsavam’ released yesterday. The fans rushed into the theatres on the first day to watch their favourite star on the big screen. As a result, the film did a great business at the box office despite mixed reviews.

According to reports, the Srikanth Addala directorial grossed Rs. 12.75 crore approximately in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on its opening day. The flick landed on the fourth spot on the list of all time opening day collections in both the states. The film got a decent opening overseas as well. But it failed to beat the record set by Mahesh’s previous film ‘Srimanthudu’.

In the U.S. the flick collected $557K on the first day, which is quite less than the collections of ‘Srimanthudu’. The film has failed to live up to the expectations of the fans and the critics also share the same view point. Looks like, the repeated postponement has affected the film’s business.
