Mahi V Raghav Talks About Sound Design In Anando Brahma

The upcoming horror flick titled ‘Anando Brahma’ is being directed by Mahi V Raghav. The movie will star Taapsee Pannu, Vennela Kishore, Srinivas Reddy and Rajiv Kanakala. Recently, the director spoke about the project and the value of sound design in a horror flick.

‘Anando Brahma’ will sort of twist the horror genre with its new approach to the sounds. Conventionally, long periods of silence are followed by a blood-curdling scream that acts as a jump scare for the audiences. In ‘Anando Brahma’, every nail-biting horror scene is followed by a comic twist. This is supposed to leave the viewers in a dilemma.

“We wanted to break a few stereotypes in terms of how horror is depicted on screen, because the script demanded it. We prepared multiple drafts of the film to balance the entire sound for it. We could not afford not to get it right”, Mahi shared. He also stated that he has been hugely inspired by James Wan, who has worked on films like ‘The Conjuring’and ‘Saw’ series.
