Manchu Manoj Gained 20 Kg For 'Okkadu Migiladu'

Manchu Manoj is not in the best phase of his career. His last three films didn’t fare well at the box-office and expectations are high with his next. His next, ‘Okkadu Migiladu’, is being helamed by Ajay Andrews Nuthakki and will hit the theatres next month on September 22. After the debacle of his last three flicks, the actor has worked hard for ‘Okkadu Migiladu’.

If reports are to be believed, the actor gained 20 kg for the flick and then later shed 10 kg for another film. Talking about it, Manoj said, "The role of the Sri Lankan leader required me to look huge and overweight. Hence, I gained about 20 kg. After we finished shooting that portion, I went and shot for another film called 'Gunturodu'. In the process, I lost 10 kg to play a student union leader".

The actor also talked about the flick. He added, "We have captured the tension of Ceylon in the 1990s as realistically as possible. The film is based on an untold true story. It's a very emotional story and focuses on the lives of those (Eelam Tamils) who die tragic deaths during that period".

The film, which also stars Anisha Ambrose, is based on the LTTE conflict in Sri Lanka. ‘Okkadu Migiladu’ will show real life incidents that took place in 1990s after the Sri Lanka Civil War, leaving in its trail 15 lakh refugees.
