Naga Chaitanya To Play His Granddad Akkineni Nageswara Rao In 'Mahanati'

‘Mahanati’ is one of the most anticipated biopic of based on the life of South Indian actress Savitri. Helmed by Nag Ashwin, the film stars Dulquer Salmaan , Anushka Shetty, Keerthy Suresh and Samantha Akkineni in the lead roles. Now, the latest addition in the cast of the film is of Naga Chaitanya .

Yes, you read that right! The actor has finally given his approval to play his granddad Akkineni Nageswara Rao in the film. The actor will shoot his part in two days, March 14 and 15, for the film.  ANR’s part is important in the film as ANR and Savitri was a hit pair and they worked in many films together.

Their films include ‘Devadas’ and ‘Mayabazaar’. The film will also have actors like Prakash Raj and Mohan Babu in key roles. Actress Keerthy is expected to play the titular role. ‘Mahanati’ will release on March 31.
