    Now its Christians’s anger over Vishwaroopam


    Megastar Kamal Haasan seems to be in big trouble all over again as now the Christian community revealed their objections overVishwaroopamand have taken the film to court. A petitioner, C. Jebakumar George submitted a plea to Madras High Court though it was refused. The petitioner said, "because of the screening of the film, great prejudice had been caused to Christians in India".

    A leading newspaper reported that the High Court dismissed the "plea for a direction to the Central and State Governments and the Central Board of Film Certification to ban the Kamal Hassan-starrer ‘Vishwaroopam' in its present form throughout the country until the film is edited to be in conformity with the guidelines under XII and XIII of the Cinematograph Act."

    George said that he was shocked watching the film as some scenes of the movie were very violent and disparaging and had offended the sentiments of the Muslim community. However, the film is doing well in the states like Karnataka and Tamil Nadu as well as in the northern part of India. The director too has agreed to run the objectionable scenes without audio for the Muslim group.
