PETA India honours R Madhavan with Person of the Year title

Multilingual talented actor R Madhavan has been chosen ‘Person of the Year’ by PETA India for actively promoting vegetarianism. Madhavan champions the cause of vegetarianism, which is the best way to help stop animal suffering and he often volunteers to defend the rights of animals. He also participated in People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’s ‘Kentucky Fried Cruelty’ campaign and sent a letter to the CEO of KFC's parent company, requesting them to adopt PETA's recommendations to stop the worst abuses of chickens. His son also donated the money that he received on his seventh birthday.

Madhavan was also the narrator of Glass Walls, a hard-hitting video expose of the meat industry, saying, "When you see what goes on inside slaughterhouses, I think you'll lose your appetite for animal flesh, too. Animals feel pain, just as people do. They value their lives, just as we value ours."
