Ram Charan recently announced that Chiranjeevi’s 150th film will be the remake of Tamil blockbuster ‘Kaththi’. He also revealed that V.V. Vinayak will be helming the venture. Earlier, another director was being linked with the project. Speculations were that Puri Jagannadh will be directing the 150th film of the Stalin actor.

Puri Jagannadh expressed how he felt after missing out on the film. He said, "It's unfortunate that things didn't work and I missed out on the opportunity to direct the film. But I'll definitely work with Chiranjeevi sir in the future".

He also shared that things did not work out as Chiranjeevi did not like the latter half of the script. He said, "Had he given me more time, I'd have reworked on the script. Instead, he told people (media) that he didn't like it. I felt very bad that he didn't deal the matter with me directly. However, I've put all that behind and we still share a great friendship". Currently, the director is gearing up for the release of Varun Tej starrer ‘Loafer’. He also praised the Kanche actor for his acting skills in the flick.
