Rana Daggubati’s upcoming flick The Ghazi Attack is creating a stir among the fans as it is nearing its release on February 17. The movie has been set up under the backdrop of mysterious sinking of PNS Ghazi, a Pakistani submarine, during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. The film is India's first submarine warfare film.

Playing a Navy officer in the film, Rana was moved after experiencing and hearing the plight that these officers go through. He met some of the real life Navy officers and heard their experiences. He even wrote a letter to President Pranab Mukherjee drawing attention to the need to acknowledge the country's unsung heroes.

He said, "Post Ghazi, a civilian like me has understood a lot about victorious battles that have been fought by all our armed forces on the borders so as to keep us safe. As a civilian I did not know about these victorious tales and like me there are many others who did not know much about it. To us, it's a letter to acknowledge these heroes and make sure we know more about these unsung heroes and their tales of victory".

Helmed by debutant director Sankalp Reddy, the film is being bankrolled by PVP Cinema and stars Taapsee Pannu, Atul Kulkarni, Kay Kay Menon and Om Puri.
