Southern film industry offers to remake Special 26

Special 26’screw has been flying high since it has gained huge positive response from the box-office from its opening day. Now more offers are pouring down from South to remake the Neeraj Pandey-directed film.Filmmaker Pandey ofA Wednesdayfame has confirmed the news, "Yes, I have received many calls since Friday. Many people from South have approached me asking for the remake rights.”

While speaking on the sidelines of aSpecial 26event, Pandey said that he has no authority to decide about the remake rights, "I don't know what is the status about it. People on the upper level will take the decision." His earlier super-hit filmA Wednesdaywas remade in Tamil asUnnaipol Oruvanand in Telugu asEeenadu.

Pandey also explained that he was in no mood of experimentation while making the filmSpecial 26that starredAkshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles along with Anupam Kher and Manoj Bajpayee,"My intention was not to experiment with different films. I really liked the subject. This is one of the best films among my films. When I was just coming here to meet you all, I met Mithun Chakrobarty and he said he really liked the film and wants to remake it in Bengali."
