After the huge success of Baahubali, director S.S. Rajamouli is planning a television series based on the blockbuster film. Though, the news of restricting the Baahubali saga to its second instalment has disappointed the fans, but the plans of a TV series based on the hero has got some respite their way. The movie has already collected Rs. 180 crore at Indian box office.

When quizzed about the abrupt ending for the first part, the Eega director told Deccan Chronicle, “It was planned as a two-part film. Frankly, I planned the declaration of Baahubali as the King as the end of first part. And I felt the twist in the end is a very poetic suspense. I didn’t mean it as a rude shock to the audience”.

The filmmaker further said, “We won’t go beyond the second part as far as cinema is concerned. The story ends with the second part. But we are contemplating a TV series. When you see your theory is proved by practical application, your confidence level goes up a notch higher. A success like Baahubali gives immense satisfaction.”
