Sumanth Ashwin Roped In For Ladies Tailor Sequel

For quite some time, it was known that Raj Tarun will be playing the lead in the sequel to the 1986 film 'Ladies Tailor'. Now, reports have stated that Sumanth Ashwin will be replaing Tarun as the lead actor. The reason behind Raj Tarun’s departure is currently unknown.

The original film was directed by Vamsy. It starred Rajendra Prasad, Archana, Y. Vijaya and others. The sequel has been titled Fashion Designer, s/o Ladies Tailor and will follow the events of the original. Rajendra Prasad will also be present in the film, reprising his role from the original. Sumanth will be playing the role of his son.

According to a source, “In Ladies Tailor, Rajendra Prasad played the ladies tailor, Sundaram, who sets out on a quest to find a woman with a mole on her thigh, because a soothsayer predicts it will change his fortune. Sumanth will be playing the son of Sundaram (Rajendra Prasad is set play the role again), who happens to be a fashion designer”. The source added that Sumanth’s character will also be on the hunt for his true love.
