Taapsee Pannu Talks About Her Role In Rana Daggubati Starrer ‘Ghazi’

The upcoming film of Rana Daggubati ‘Ghazi’ started rolling early last month. The film is garnering lot of attention as it will revolve around Pakistani submarine named PNS Ghazi that sunk under unknown circumstances during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. Taapsee Pannu was roped in for the role of the female lead in the film.

The Veera actress will be seen playing a refugee in the flick and will be portrayed in a deglamourized avatar. He opened up about her role and revealed, "It's interesting when you portray characters of the past especially when they are involved in some historic event. Since I play a refugee and most of the movie is shot in a submarine it barely gives any scope for characters to play costume drama. Plus since I will be portraying a character who has gone through enough shocks and troubles, I carry a no makeup look. In fact I need to look more worn down to suit certain scenes”.

The film is a Hindi-Telugu bilingual and it is being helmed by director Sankalp. The story has been inspired from the director’s book ‘Blue Fish’. The venture, which will be India’s first submarine based war film, is being bankrolled under PVP Cinemas.
