Telugu Director Arrested

Not much after the beginning of the New Year, filmmaker Sairam dasari has filled the audience with consternation. The director has left his fans in a state of shock after reports of him hurting religious sentiments through his short film surfaced the media. The director Sairam Dasari has been booked and arrested for the same.

It was members of the Brahmin community who first noticed the scenes in the short film Devuda in which there are scenes of whiskey being poured over a Shiva Lingam in a temple even as a cigarette burns like an agarbatti. The members then met Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma to complain against the filmmakers for allegedly mocking Lord Shiva. This is when the police decided to take action against the director.

While the Malkajgiri police station under the Rachakonda police commissionerate arrested the director of the short film, the producer who bankrolled the movie is on a run.  The director was arrested yesterday. Director Dasari Sairam (25) is a native of Tenali in Andhra Pradesh and the producer Gajjela Hari Kumar Reddy is a native of Kadapa district in AP.
