Telugu filmmaker N. Shankar nominated as Oscar Screening Committee jury member

The acclaimed filmmaker of the Telugu film industry, Nimmala Shankar, who was elected as a jury member for the 51st National Film Awards in 2003, has bagged a bigger opportunity in his life. He has been reportedly nominated by the Film Federation to be a part of the 16-member jury at the Oscar Screening Committee.

The committee will select India's official entry at the upcoming Oscars. Filmmakers, artistes and technicians from the selection committee will view the nominated Indian films on September 17 in Hyderabad. The director, who earlier acted as jury of Nandi Awards and International Film Festival of India too, shared his view, "I feel privileged to have been nominated for the responsibility. I'm looking forward to watching the best movies made in the country in the last year.”
