Actress Andrea Jeremiah has recently expressed her unhappiness in a recent interaction that the film industry is a powerful male dominated and  women are underestimated. On the occasion of Women’s Day, on March 8, the actress said that women have always been stereotyped and objectified in the industry.

According to a leading daily, the actress was quoted saying, “Even a Deepika Padukone had to do a film with Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor to become a Deepika Padukone. A Nayanthara has to do films with Vijay, Ajith, Suriya , Rajinikanth and then she becomes Nayanthara. Why can’t an Andrea just do good strong roles and become an Andrea? Why does the worth of an actress have to be determined by her co-stars”.

Moreover, the actress revealed that after the release of the critically acclaimed Taramani she hasn’t given any consent for another movie. She last portrayed a terrific character in the suspense-horror flick, ‘Gruham’ opposite Siddharth . The film had been directed by U. Milind Rau.
