This Tollywood Filmmaker Plans A Remake Of Rajesh Khanna Starrer ‘Prem Nagar’

The 1974 romantic drama film, ‘Prem Nagar’, was a classic love story of its time. Produced by late D. Ramanaidu, the flick starred ace actors like Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini, Aruna Irani, Ashok Kumar, Kamini Kaushal, Prem Chopra, Asrani and Jagdeep. As per the latest reports, Daggubati Suresh Babu, son of producer late D. Ramanaidu, is planning a remake of this movie.

At the promotional event of his forthcoming flick ‘Pittagoda’, Suresh expressed his desire to remake ‘Prem Nagar’. He wants the remake to be made according to the most recent fashion and responsiveness. The distinct approach of Suresh has made him a successful filmmaker with hits like ‘Bobbili Raja’, ‘Coolie No.1’, ‘Ganesh’, ‘Malliswari’, ‘Gopala Gopala’ and more.

D. Ramanaidu made ‘Prem Nagar’ in three languages. The Tamil version of the flick was ‘Vasantha Maligai’, which released in 1972 and the Telugu remake was made as ‘Prem Nagar’ that released in 1971. All that is interesting is to see what new flavours Suresh will add to the classic that his father produced.
