This Veteran Director Will Helm Jayalalithaa’s Biopic

Former actress and admired politician Jayalalithaa passed away on December 5, 2016. Her demise came as a shock to the people of her state. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has a splendid career, both as an actress and politician. Ever since her death, a biopic on her journey was on the minds of several filmmakers.

Finally, it is being reported that a veteran filmmaker has decided to helm a flick on Amma, alias Jayalalithaa. Rumours are rife that Dasari Narayana Rao, who has been afar from the business from past few years, is busy penning the script of the film titled ‘Amma’. This flick happens to be the biopic of Late Jayalalithaa, general secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

Several writers are working along with Rao on this biopic, which is likely to be trilingual, to be made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The title for this film ‘Amma’ has been registered recently with the Film Chamber. 74-year-old Dasari Narayana Rao will helm as well as bankroll this forthcoming movie. However, an official announcement is awaited.
