Talking to reporters during the audio launch of his much anticipated flick recently, the superstar said, “ARM is a fantastic story-teller and when he narrated theThuppakkiscript, I was floored. I have not done a similar line in my career. I used to call Murugadoss ‘Kutty Mani Ratnam”. Vijay said, “Appa was supposed to produceThuppakki. Later, it changed hands and he gave it to Thanu who was to do a movie with me. So, I want to thank my dad SAC for getting me the dream combo of A.R. Murugadoss, Santhosh Sivan, Harris Jayaraj and Thanu”.

    Describing about his character in the film, he said, “I play Jagdish, a Tamilian, born and brought up in Mumbai. So, to perfect my Hindi dialect, we had a local person who was helping me with the correct slang.” It was the climax of the film, which attracted the actor most. “It’s action, but not the usual stuff. There is a heart- wrenching message conveyed in a poetic way by Murugadoss,” he added. Aactor Sathyan, lyricists Madan Karky, Pa.Vijay, Viveka and Muthukumar, Shoba Chandrashekar and Vijayan were also spotted at the event.
