Vamsi Paidipally Won’t Be Helming Akhil Akkineni’s Next

After Akhil Akkineni’s debut film ‘Akhil’ bombed at the box office, rumours started doing the rounds that he would collaborate with Vamsi Paidipally for his next film.  Speculations were rife that they would team up for the remake of hit Bollywood film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani’. But now reports suggest that the two won’t be collaborating. 

A source close to the director revealed that he has decided to back out of the project as he was not interested in helming another remake. He said, "Vamsi was set to team up with Akhil, and he was initially interested. The Akkineni family wanted him to work on the Telugu remake of Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani. However, he wasn't too keen on the idea because he had recently worked on the remake of a French film".

The director wanted to try a fresh script while Nagarjuna and Akhil wanted to go for the remake. They couldn’t agree and as a result the film was cancelled. Another set or rumours suggest that Vamsi left the project as a Tollywood superstar agreed to work with him.
