Veteran actress Sowcar Janaki to make a big-screen comeback with Pungidasa

Legendary actress Sowcar Janaki, who holds a record of acting in more than 385 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi, is set to come back on the big screen with Pungidasa, the Komal-starrer.

Sowcar is said to be playing a pivotal role in the film, Komal's grandmother. She will be shooting for 20 days for the project and some of the shooting schedules are already done at a house in Rajarajeshwari Nagar. Janaki began her film career in the 50s with her first Telugu movie Shavukar opposite N. T. Rama Rao. She has also played roles of leading heroines opposite A. Nageswara Rao, Jaggaiah, Sivaji Ganesan, M.G.R, Gemini Ganesan and many others. She has served as a Jury member at National Indian Films awards committee and as chairperson at State Telugu Films awards committee.
