Vetrimaaran is angry with Srinivasan

Noted director-writer Vetrimaaran, who has penned the script of Siddharth's next film,Udhayam NH4, is very angry withPower StarSrinivasan and also accused him of ‘intellectual property theft’. According to sources, Vetrimaaran and Srinivasan have been fighting over a film title,Desiya Nedunjalai,for some time. Vetrimaaran reportedly wanted to nameUdhayam NH4, Desiya Nedunjalaibecauseit wasthe name of his now scrapped film with Dhanush but before they could re-register the name, Srinivasan started a film with the same title.

An angry Vetrimaaran tweeted, "Udhayam NH 4is a compromised title forDesiya Nedunjalaidue to inept rules governing the title ownership of our film industry. I shot for the filmDesiya Nedunjalaiwith Dhanush way back in 2006 for a day but was shelved. And when want to do it I realize the title has been registered by Dr. Srinivasan for a film. This is no less than intellectual property theft (sic)." Reacting to the filmmaker’s outburst, Srinivasan said, "I'm acting in a film, titledDesiya Nedunjalai, with Sanghavi. The shooting is complete, and we're also done with filming the six songs in the film. The film will release soon. So, I am not in a position to part with the title."
