Way cleared for Vishwaroopam’s release

After a lot of controversies, legal battles and many rounds of meeting, the Tamil version of Kamal Haasan's magnum opusVishwaroopamis all set to hit the theatres. The actor-director-producer Kamal Haasan will soon announce a new date for the release of the film in the state. The Tamil Nadu government lifted the ban on the film yesterday after the megastar agreed to cut a few scenes of the film following a compromise with Muslim groups.

According to sources, District Collectors across the state have revoked prohibitory orders under which the release of the film was banned. The meeting between the protesting Muslim groups and Haasan took place on the state government’s initiative on Saturday and after it the megastar agreed to cut some controversial scenes and mute some dialogues.
