Wow! SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ At BRICS Film Festival

Last year, at the conclusion of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi suggested a film festival to bridge gaps between the BRICS nations and also to showcase one’s culture and arts. The first BRICS Film Festival will be held in India from September 2 to 6. Interestingly, S. S. Rajamouli’s epic historical fiction film ‘Baahubali’ will be screened during this fiesta.

A total of 20 films will be screened at the film festival, 4 from each country. Other Indian films to be featured include Kannada flick ‘Thithi’, Bengali movie ‘Cinemawalla’ and Bollywood epic historical romance film ‘Bajirao Mastani’. Moreover, awards for best film, best actor, best actress, best director and special jury prizes will be presented at BRICS festival.

Reportedly, one member from each country will be part of the jury. Blissfully, Kannada film maker T. S. Nagabharana will head the jury. Kunal Kapoor starrer ‘Veeram’ is the opening movie at BRICS film festival. This promising film festival will be held in Sirifort Auditorium in New Delhi.
