Moon Knight Episode 2 Review - Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke continue to impress
    Updated : April 13, 2022 03:26 PM IST

The second episode of Moon Knight is finally out and it continues to be impressive. The episode starts with Steven Grant trying to figure out more about his other personality and about the mystical cult leader that is after him.

but when a woman named Layla El-Faouly played by May Calamawy shows up in his apartment Grant and claims to know Marc Spector he takes a chance and asks for her help.

Like the first episode, Oscar Isaac gives a great performance and in this episode, we get to see more of Marc Spector and how both Spector and Grant are complete opposites, a balancing act that the actor more than pulls off.

However, the stand out has to be Ethan Hawke as the cult leader of Arthur Harrow: who has a history with the moon god Khonshu. The actor does a great role in switching between an idealistic and a kind father figure to a fanatic who will do anything to achieve his goals.

The MCU has always had a problem with its villains an issue they have been addressing of late and thanks to this we have gotten some great villains like the mad titan Thanos and more recently The Mandarin in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. With only two episodes Arthur Harrow looks like he might be one of the best Marvel has introduced.

May Calamawy as Layla also gives a solid performance and it will be very interesting to see what the MCU will do with the character in the future as the second episode makes a few not too subtle hints.

The action sequences were fun to watch and held up the usual quality that the MCU shows have. There is a small chase scene in a hallway that does stand out though at times the CGI does feel like it needed more work which is an issue that all the new MCU series have in common.

The second episode was a fun watch and left me with a lot of questions and with only four more episodes left, lets hope Marvel ends the show on a high note.
