Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 3 Review - The show finally finds its footing and delivers a solid episode
    Updated : June 01, 2022 02:55 PM IST

The third episode starts with both Leia and Obi-Wan on a cargo ship as they search for a way to get Leia back to her parents in Alderon, Obi-wan is still cut off from the force despite him trying to continue with his old mentor Qui gon jinn but his guilt over Anakin stops him.

Ewan McGregor is still the best part of the show, the man is a master at his craft and is brilliant throughout the episode playing a version of Obi-Wan that suffers from PTSD.

as the episode plays on, we get a few glimpses of his past self but it is clear this is not the wise and confident Jedi master that we have known.

Vivien Lyra Blair as the young princess Leia is still great and often does steal the spotlight from Ewan McGregor another trend that this show has with the other Star Wars shows is its depiction of life under the Galactic Empire.

We see people who are blind in their loyalty to The Empire, those who want to tear it down, and those who are just struggling to survive, this helps further enhance not only the show but the Star Wars universe as well.

The show does hold true to the franchise's roots of Western classics like Shane, The Good The Bad and The Ugly, and True Grit, this is especially obvious with the dynamic between Obi-wan and Leia that follows the lone wolf and cub troupe.

Of course, the main highlight of the episode is Darth Vader , who is a treat to watch as the cold and menacing predator hunting for his old master, as he murders civilians without a second thought, his mere presence sending chills down people, even his own underlings can't hide their fear.

And we get to see the two clash after ten years, Obi-Wan cannot face his former pupil and is running away and Vader just stalking him like a predator would a wounded animal, watching Obi-Wan being toyed with was heartbreaking to see.

This episode is solid from start to finish and the series continues to impress, and all I can do is count the days till the next episode drops.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is streaming on Disney+
