Many felt that this is based on Mahesh Bhatt's relationship with Parveen Babi. Now, Amrita Puri has opened up about it.

In an exclusive interview with us, Amrita Puri addressed the question and said, "It's not just one person's story really. Our director Pushpdeep himself has been a struggling director for 15 years before he got this break. This is his debut series. There's a lot of the struggle that he's put in this, his own struggle. So it's not based on one person's life."

But is there no reference to Mahesh Bhatt's life at all? Amrita replied, "Yes, there is. There is some inspiration from Mahesh Saab's life and he is involved in creating it, but it's many people's stories put into one so it's not a biopic. It's not autobiographical. And yeah, it's about the 70s so it will remind you of that time."

Well, the series too mentions that it has been inspired by real-life incidents. Mahesh Bhatt and Parveen Babi's relationship has been explored on-screen several times. It has been said that films like Arth and Woh Lamhe were inspired by Mahesh Bhatt's relationship with Parveen Babi.
