    The much-awaited trailer of Hansal Mehta's next Scoop starring Karishma Tanna, Mohammad Zeeshan, Prosenjit Chatterjee and Harman was released on Monday.

    After impressing the audience with Scam 1992, ace filmmaker Hansal Mehta once again delves into thriller drama inspired by real events. This time, the filmmaker took inspiration from Jigna Vora’s memoir ‘Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison, and created a crime drama titled Scoop. The show features Karishma Tanna, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub and Prosenjit Chatterjee in lead roles. It also marks the comeback of Harman Baweja. On Monday, the makers dropped the much-awaited trailer and Twitterati gave big thumbs up to it.

    The trailer starts with an ace crime reporter Jagruti (Karishma) receiving a call from a dreaded gangster. In a major turn of events, it leads to the murder of a senior crime journalist (Prosenjit Chatterjee), leaving her as the prime suspect in the case. She is then sent to jail and left to fight her battle alone. However, her family stands by her side throughout. Harman plays the role of a police officer, while Mohammad Zeeshan features as Jagruti’s colleague.

    Reacting to the trailer, one of the Twitter users wrote, “Intriguing, authentic with a fabulous cast! My fav @Mdzeeshanayyub, stoked to see @prosenjitbumba after Jubilee. Always liked #KarishmaTanna on TV, so happy to see her being utilised as a protagonist by @mehtahansal.     Hansal Mehta’s maiden series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, which was released in 2020, was quite successful. The series that captured the rise and fall of stockbroker Harshad Mehta featured Pratik Gandhi and Shreya Dhanwanthary in lead roles. Talking about his next Scoop, he said, “As a filmmaker, my intention is to always tell stories that go beyond a weekend. In Scoop, I found that: a story that speaks urgently to our post-truth times. Season one is just the beginning. I hope to keep exploring the story-rich world of media even further.” The show is set to stream on Netflix on June 2.
