One of the most anticipated superhero movies of the year is Dwayne Johnson 's Black Adam , the movie which is a spinoff to 2019s Shazam and is gearing up for its October release.

The movie will serve as an origin story for the iconic DC anti-hero, once a slave in the city of Kahndaq who is granted incredible powers by the wizard Shazam and ends up being imprisoned for nearly 5000 years for abusing his powers.

The movie will also introduce The Justice Society of America into the DCEU , the JSA is a variant of The Justice League and consists of different members.

The Rock leads the Black Adam cast as the titular antihero alongside Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate.

The movie is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who previously directed Dwayne Johnson in Jungle Cruise, the movie has been in the making for nearly a decade and is teased to change the power dynamic of the DC cinematic universe.

Just two months out from Black Adam's premiere, Vanity Fair has exclusive new images showing off Johnson in costume as the titular antihero.

The photos show fresh looks at each one of the movie's JSA members, including Hawkman, Cyclone, Doctor Fate, and Atom Smasher.

While only Black Adam's and Cyclone power's are displayed, hopefully as the movie nears its release date we will get to see more of the cast in action.

The trailer sees the JSA take on Black Adam, who is on a rampage after his release, however, they are forced to team up in order to defeat a greater threat the demon Sabbac.

Black Adam will hit the big screen on October 21, 2022.
