According to these early reactions from critics, the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday special is a treat to watch. With many calling it "a new Christmas classic,"

Many also praised the performance of Maria Bakalova as Cosmo the Spacedog who made its MCU debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol:1 saying that the character steals the show.

Cosmo has so far appeared in both installments of The Guardians of the Galaxy as well the Disney+ animated series What...If? and will also play a role in the upcoming Volume 3 of GOTG.

The recently released trailer for the special reveals that the plot will revolve around Drax and Mantis as they travel to Earth in order to bring actor Kevin Bacon to meet his biggest fan Peter Quill aka Starlord.

While the remaining member of the team is busy rebuilding Nowhere after they acquired the space station from the Collector. we arent sure if Gamora will make an appearance in the special but we do know that Yando will be appearing in a flashback sequence.

The Special Presentation stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Pom Klementieff, and features Vin Diesel as Groot and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Sean Gunn, Michael Rooker, and Kevin Bacon.

So lets take a look at what the critics have to say

The special will be the final entry in the fourth phase of the MCU and will setup the events of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol: 3
