Vincent D'Onofrio's portrayal of the iconic Marvel supervillain kingpin was universally well received, while Netflix's version of the character was more grounded in reality, his MCU debut in Hawkeye made it clear that going forward a more comic book accurate version will be represented.

In Hawkeye Kingpin was Echo 's uncle who raised her after the death of her father but in the finale, it is revealed that he was actually responsible for killing her father.

Which leads him to be taken down by Kate Bishop by using explosive arrows, now we do know he survived because he will appear in Echo and Daredevil: Born Again

As to how he survived the explosion, according to rumors, it seems Marvel will change his comic book origin story and instead show him take some of the super soldier serum instead.

Recently, The Cosmic Circus' Lizzie Hill took to Twitter to say, "[The] Kingpin has been spotted on the set of Echo in a scene involving a little girl and ice cream (and a fight!). Seems as if we have some flashbacks being filmed for the series."

Hopefully, his appearance will be more than a few flashback scenes and he gets to play a more active role in the show.

The cast of the show includes Alaqua Cox, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, Graham Greene, Zahn McClarnon, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Charlie Cox.

Sydney Freeland and Catriona McKenzie will be serving as directors, the show doesn't have an official release date but it is expected to premier in mid-2023.
