Exclusive: Atul Kulkarni opens up on reuniting with Ajay Devgn for Rudra after Khakee; says ‘I have gained a lot’
Atul Kulkarni and Ajay Devgn will be sharing the screen again after 18 long years in the upcoming series Rudra: The Edge of Darkness.
Atul Kulkarni is undoubtedly one of the most versatile actors of the Hindi film industry and proof of the same are his wonderful performances in films like Chandni Bar and Rang De Basanti among many others. He recently won our hearts once again with Behzad Khambata’s thriller A Thursday, co-starring Yami Gautam and Neha Dhupia. Well, up next Atul will be seen in the much awaited psychological crime thriller series, Rudra : The Edge of Darkness. The actor will be reuniting with his Khakee co-actor Ajay Devgn after 18 long years for this series.
In an exclusive interview with Desimartini, Atul opened up about the same and shared, “See Ajay ji is a person, he’s not just an actor. He is a director himself, he’s a producer, he writes, he has such a great knowledge about all the technical sides of filmmaking-- may it be camera, may it be you know fight sequences, lighting, this that. So when such an experienced person comes in front of you, you can only learn. And that learning is not like what a teacher teaches in a school on a blackboard.”
He explained, “It comes with how you talk about the scene, what are his inputs, how he’s looking at a scene, what he’s thinking, what are his comments and in that respect I think I have gained a lot from him.” While Ajay will be seen as DCP Rudraveer Singh aka Rudra in the upcoming series, Atul will be playing the role of a cop named Gautam.
