The upcoming prequel series is gearing up for its release on Disney+ today, with the first three episodes to be out simultaneously, Diego Luna will be reprising his role as Cassian Andor from Rogue One, in which he was a part of the team of rebels who stole the plans for The Death Star from the Empire.

The actor who will be reprising his role in the prequel to the prequel is all set to appear in the upcoming 24 episodes of the series which have been split into two seasons was asked recently if he would be interested in returning to the role again in future projects.

Speaking with EW's Dagobah Dispatch podcast the 42-year-old actor had this to say when asked about his role "It's a beautiful journey now that I have 24 episodes, 24 shorter films, to tell the story of where Cassian comes from and how he got to be the man we met in Rogue One."

He went on to say that the series was finite had a clear ending

"To me, I learned in my life that it's about living the present. It's about enjoying what you're doing," he said. "And for the sake of my mental health and clarity, I would say things need to have a beginning and an end for me to understand them and enjoy them and enjoy the ride. Until today I can tell you, I haven't gone into a project with that ambition of hoping it would last longer or it will go to somewhere else than what I have in front of me."

When asked about reprising his role in future projects, Luna was quick and responded by saying "No, impossible. It would have to be someone else, man. I'm not getting any younger, so it definitely would have to be someone else."

While it will be sad to know that we won't see the actor in the Star Wars universe after the second season, it is reassuring to know that the series is a great send-off to Cassina Andor.

Star Wars: Andor will be set during the early days of the Rebel Alliance and is set to a spy-thriller set in the Star Wars universe, which is a first for the franchise.

The series is created by Tony Gilroy who previously worked on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the cast of the show includes Diego Luna, Genevieve O'Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, and Denise Gough.
