Marvel's upcoming Blade series adds actor Aaron Pierre to its cast

A reboot of MCU's Blade is in the early stages of development. The project was announced at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2019 has now added a third member to its cast with actor Aaron Pierre's joining.

While we don't know what role Aaron Pierre will be playing in the show, sources have revealed that the character will play a pivotal role in the reboot. Oscar-winning actor Mahersha Ali will be playing the role of the iconic vampire hunter.

In November 2021, Delroy Lindo was announced to have joined the cast after Ali but again the details of his role in the series have been kept tightly under wraps.

Blade made his first live-action appearance in the 1998 movie which starred Wesley Snipes in the lead and was a critical and commercial success. It swapped two sequels and was one of the earliest superhero movie blockbusters and the first one starring an African- Ameican in the lead.

Blade is a half-vampire half-man who was infected with vampirism when he was in his mother's womb, thus giving him all the strengths of a vampire but none of their weakness. Blade has sworn an oath to protect humanity from vampires at all cost.

Blade has already made his off-screen debut in the MCU when he meets Dane Whitman played by Kit Harrington in the post-credit scene of The Eternals . Harrington is also set to appear in the show hinting at a possible team-up.

Aaron Pierre is known for his work on the show Krypton, which was set in the DC universe and focused on Superman's family and their struggles to protect the planet. He has also been a part of projects like The Underground Railroad, Britannia, and M. Night Shyamalan's Old. He will provide the voice of a young Mufasa in Disney 's upcoming The Lion King prequel.

Blade will go into full production later this year, so are you excited to see the return of this MCU superhero and watch him take on the vampire menace?
