Moon Knight is a standalone series and follows Marc Spector, played by Oscar Isaac, a man suffering from multiple personalities and is the chosen guardian of the ancient Egyptian moon god Khonshu.

The show has reached over 1.8 million households within 5 days beating shows like Wanda Vision, and Hawkeye, and taking second place behind Loki which has 2.5 million within the same amount of time.

Considering that Moon Knight is a new character in the MCU, the opening rating of the first episode is impressive as it has beaten out several more well-established shows.

Oscar Isaac has said in interviews that he has only signed one for one season and that Moon Knight is a limited series and he doesn't know if he will reprise his role in future MCU projects.

The show is detached from the rest of the MCU and has a darker tone than other Marvel shows but director Mohamed Diab has expressed interest in seeing more of Moon Knight in the future.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Moon Knight as the first episode has been a critical success and with Marvel producing Werewolf by Night as a Halloween special.

For the uninitiated Werewolf by Night is a werewolf who appearance in Marvel comics and has frequently interacted with Moon Knight, so this could be hinting at Marc Spector's future in the MCU.

The second episode of the show will stream on Disney + on the 6th of April and directed by Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead and will consist of six episodes and stars Oscar Isaac, May Calamawy, Karim El Hakim, F. Murray Abraham, and Ethan Hawke .
