Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac says their is a good reason why he has a weird British accent in the show

One thing everyone noticed about the trailer for the upcoming MCU superhero series Moon Knight but didn't talk is the weird accent used by star Oscar Issac with many fans comparing it to the disastrous accent by actor Dike Van Dyke in the classic Marry Poppins.

In a recent interview, Oscar talked about his accent in the show and explained why it was necessary to the story.

Moon Knight follows Steven Grant who works as a vendor in a British museum. Grant who is mild-mannered suffers from memory blackouts, and has many delusional episodes of him living a different life, however, he soon comes to the realisation that these are not delusions.

Grant comes to the conclusion that he suffers from dissociative identity disorder and that his other personality Marc Spector is a mercenary for hire and is the champion of the Egyptian god of the moon Khonshu who grants him the power to turn into the superhero Moon Knight.

Star Oscar Isaac In an interview with Empire spoke about his role as well as defended the accent he used on the show.

"I stand by the sound of Steven 100 per cent," Isaac recently told the magazine. "It’s cool [the accent] got people excited, and some were like, ‘That sucks!’ and others were like, ‘That’s great!’ But there are reasons. That voice is about where Steven’s from, where he’s living now, and some of his believed heritage," the actor teased. He added that the idea was not to sound British at all.

The actor is known for giving some spectacular performances in movies and shows like Ex Machina, Inside Llewyn Davis, Drive and Show Me a Hero so it will be exciting to see him switch between the personalities in the show.

Joining Isaac is another acting legend Ethan Hawke who will be playing the main villain of the show Arthur Harrow is a cult leader who is after the Moon Knight and his powers, there are rumors that the show will introduce ancient Egyptian gods into the MCU to expand the universe.

Fans will have to wait till the show premiers on Disney + to know how the series turns out, Moon Knight will be released on March 30, 2022
