Paatal Lok season 2: Jaideep Ahlawat's fee goes up by 50 times as he returns to play Hathiram Chowdhary

Jaideep Ahlawat’s popularity has been on the rise, thanks to his break out performance in the 2020 web series Paatal Lok . The second season of Paatal Lok was announced in a big way at a grand event hosted by Amazon Prime Video this week and with the exciting announcement comes a new revelation about Jaideep’s return on the show.

According to reports, Jaideep Ahlawat has been bumped up significantly for Paatal Lok season 2 by the makers as compared to the meagre pay cheque he earned for playing the lead of the first season.

Jaideep, according to a Pinkvilla report is being paid Rs. 20 crores for Paatal Lok season 2 as opposed to the Rs. 40 lakhs pay for season 1. There’s no doubt that the salary hike is well deserved by Jaideep who has managed to solidify his position as one of the most sought after OTT stars since Paatal Lok first released in 2020.

Not just for Paatal Lok, but it has been a trend on OTT with many well performing web series where the talent cast has been given a much deserved raise in second seasons. It happened with Mirzapur, where the salaries of the cast members like Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal , Divyendu Sharma was doubled for season after the popularity of the first season.

Sushmita Sen was reported to have hiked her fee after the success of Arya season 1. Saif Ali Khan & Nawazuddin Siddiqui also got a salary hike after the mega success of Sacred Games season1.

However, what is special in Jaideep’s case is that the fee hike is significant one. Jaideep’s pay going up by 50 times since the first season points towards how successful he has managed to become in the digital space in the two years since the first season.

Between Paatal Lok and Paatal Lok season 2, Jaideep has starred in the films Khaali Peeli, Ajeeb Daastaans, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar , Tryst With Destiny and the web series Bloody Brothers.
