She-Hulk: Attorney at Law director confirms that the show will break the fourth wall and says it be 'full of surprises'
Series co-directors Kat Coiro and Anu Valia explain why they choose to break the fourth wall.
Co-director Kat Coiro explained why the choice to break the fourth wall was used during a recent interview.
The trailer reveals that after gaining her powers Jennifer Walters trains with her cousin Bruce Banner aka The Hulk to control her powers.
They share a sibling rivalry in the trailer with the Hulk being jealous of how quickly his cousin is picking everything up.
The show will also have quite a few cameos from other Marvel heroes.
The first one the trailer had was Sorcerer Supreme Wong, as well revealing the fact that Walters will be defending the supervillain Emil Blonsky aka Abomination in court.
The trailer also confirmed rumors that Matt Mudrock aka Daredevil will also have a cameo in the show sporting his yellow costume.
Both the actress and the co-directors of the show assure us that the breaking of the fourth wall isn't just a gimmick.
Speaking to IGN the trio talked about breaking the fourth wall
Co-director Kat Coiro said there are "some big surprises coming regarding the fourth wall," though she didn't elaborate any further. "I think breaking the fourth wall asks a lot of questions that I hope we get to answer for you in the show" added co-director Anu Valia. "So I just don't want to give too much away. But it's very fun, it's very cool."
"And also, it's a great way to bring the audience in," offered Maslany. "They already jump into the universe of the MCU but to be like 'hey, I know, I see you coming in so let's go together' is kind of a fun thing."
While we don't know exactly who will be playing the main villain of the show, we do know that it will be the last series set in the fourth phase of the MCU.
The show will consist of nine episodes and stars Tatiana Maslany, Jameela Jamil, Josh Segarra, Ginger Gonzaga, Jon Bass, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Tim Roth, Mark Ruffalo, and Benedict Wong.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will stream on Dinsey+ on August 17, 2022.
