Star Wars - Samuel L. Jackson wants to return as Mace Windu says he asked Bryce Dallas Howard to bring him back in the Mandalorian

The Jedi master Mace Windu played by Samuel L. Jackson's Star Wars journey appeared to have ended in Revenge of The Sith when he was attacked and killed by Anakin Skywalker.

However, the popularity of the character led to many fan theories of his survival and when the first images of Snoke revealed in Star Wars: The Force Awakens led to many speculating that the character's true identity was Mace Windu who had turned to the Dark side after he was betrayed by Anakin Skywalker.

Now while those theories turned out to be wrong, it seems that actor Samuel L. Jackson is still interested in returning to the role of the Jedi Master.

Mace Windu is considered to be one of the most powerful Jedi Masters in the Order so the idea of him surviving his wounds and returning is a possibility. And the fact that emperor Palpatine survived his apparent death in Return of The Jedi and returned in the Rise of Skywalker as the main villain adds hope of seeing the Jedi Master as well.

In a recent interview, the actor revealed that he asked Bryce Dallas Howard who has directed a few episodes of The Mandalorian to add him to the show.

"There's a huge history of people with one hand returning in Star Wars," Jackson says in the video below. "The only person I've ever said that to about coming back was Bryce Dallas Howard, 'cause I just did a movie with her. And she directs episodes of The Mandalorian, so, 'You think you might be able to hook a brother up? I mean you like me, right?'" the actor said.

"She's like, 'I love you, you’re amazing!' So, 'Put me back in there. Put me in coach, I’m ready!'" he continued. "You know, I'll learn to lightsaber left-handed. Come on, hook me up," he added.

There are plenty of plotlines that could be explored with Mace Windu, after all, he was one of the few Jedi who could see past his own ego and his actions indirectly led to Anakin Skywalker turning to the Dark Side.

For now, fans can only hope of seeing the Jedi Master and his iconic purple lightsaber in a galaxy far far away.
