Witcher fans aren't happy that Henry Cavill is leaving the Netflix series

    While DC fans celebrate Henry Cavill's return it has spelled doom for the fans of Netflix's fantasy series The Witcher

    With the recent announcement from the actor that he will be leaving The Witcher series after season three, and that actor Liam Hemsworth would be taking on the role in season four.

    The series is based on Andrzej Sapkowski's fantasy novels of the same name, which premiered on Netflix back in 2019 and is one the most sucessfull shows on the platform.

    In the series, Henry Cavill plays the role of Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter who possesses superhuman abilities and must protect his ward princess Ciri from evil forces.

    The rest of the cast includes the show stars Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra, Eamon Farren, Joey Batey, Anna Shaffer, Royce Pierreson, and Kim Bodnia, among others.

    The news comes soon fate the announcement that the actor will be working on a new Superman movie as well as being busy with the upcoming spy thriller Argylle and Guy Ritchie's The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

    Of course, fans of the series were quick to express their disappointment and shock at the actor's departure, with many feeling the show is doomed for cancellation and doubting that Cavill's replacement Liam Hemsworth could pull off the role.

    Only time will tell if the fourth season can manage to live up to the expectations of fans, for now, we can look forward to seeing Henry Cavill fighting monsters and romancing witches one last time in the upcoming third season.

    The third season of The Witcher doesn't have an official release date but it is expected to stream on Netflix in the first half of 2023.
