'Aur jo Sumbul ka character assassinate kiya?' : Netizens question hypocrisy of Tina Datta's team's latest statement

The last week of Bigg Boss 16 witnessed some ugly arguments between contestants Archana Gautam and Tina Datta . Archana made a statement calling Tina ‘expired maal’ that didn’t go down well with many fans of the show. Now, Tina’s social media team has penned a long statement wherein they slammed the constant character assassination of the actress on the show. However, some netizens pointed out the alleged hypocrisy of Tina stating that she has herself shamed and called out her female co-contestants on the show.

Talking about the same, Tina Datta’s team took a sharp dig at Archana’s statement about her which also implied that Tina might be a gold digger. The Uttaran actress’ team questioned why a self-made woman is being called to be dependent on a man for her luxuries and why she is being called ‘expired’ like a commodity. The team highlighted the constant character assassination of the actress on national television. However, while some fans supported the Daayan actress, other netizens weren’t that impressed. They instead pointed out how Tina Datta has herself character assassinated women like Sumbul Touqeer Khan and Soundarya Sharma on Bigg Boss 16. One of the netizens stated, “I wonder, how many time has tina done the character assassination of sumbul n soundarya! You shamed a 19 year old girl on NTV and blamed her. You’ve put all false allegations on that girl. This is your time now. Get ready to face many backlashes now. Remember sumbul’s karma is very strong and hit backs straight on the face.” A netizen added, “Here comes the woman card. Damn can’t women see how is she behaving.”

A netizen also said, “With all due respect, Tina is the one making a fool of herself on INTERNATIONAL television. I'm not at all saying that anyone has the right to judge her, because none has that right. But what I am saying is that for someone who is a public figure, her image and the protection of her image, is her responsibility and no one else's. So she should give long and hard think before carrying out actions. I follow the show and I feel very embarrassed for her. She will feel more than embarrassed once she watches the episodes. Well, it seems like not everyone got the vibe check with the statement of Tina Datta’s team. The actress has time and again being called out for showcasing fake emotions on the show. Her equation with co-contestant Shalin Bhanot is especially being called a façade by many fans.
