Several celebrities and followers of the show slammed Tejasswi for age-shaming Shamita while she was called insecure in the house for acting out because Shamita was being jokingly linked with her boyfriend Karan Kundrra .

Now that the show is over and Tejasswi has emerged the winner, she has opened up on the whole controversy and explained what she meant when she called Shamita ‘aunty’ in the house.

Addressing the issue in an interview with News 18 Tejasswi said, “It was a slang term used at the moment. Have you seen Shamita? She’s a hot-looking girl, who would actually call her an aunty? And the minute I felt that she didn’t like it, I right away took it back.”

The actress furthermore explained how several mean things were said to her but she did she make a fuss about or was apologized to like she did after learning Shamita was offended.

Tejasswi feels that one needs to understand the moment and context the remark was made in. when we had asked the actress in an interview recently if she’d ever consider mending fences with Shamita Tejasswi had said, “We meet all kinds of people and you don’t necessarily get along with everyone. Some of them become your innermost circle while some people are such whose energies don’t vibe with ours. And it's OK. As for making amends, that has to be done by both parties. Both of us need to be in that space to reach out to one another. Like they say, ‘Taali dono haath se bajti hai.’”
