'Bigg Boss 16 did more harm to my daughter' : Sumbul Touqeer Khan's father wants her to be eliminated from the show

Recently actress Sumbul Touqeer Khan or rather her father grabbed several eyeballs on Bigg Boss 16 this week. It all started after Sumbul was called out to be obsessed with Shalin Bhanot by Tina Datta after which the Imlie actress’ father joined her via a telephonic call on the show. Sumbul’s father Touqeer Hasan Khan used some derogatory and sharp language against Tina that didn’t go down well with many netizens. Now, he has revealed in a recent interview that he hopes his daughter gets eliminated from the show this week and also gave the reason for this unusual request.

Talking to Indian Express about the same, Sumbul Touqeer Khan’s father said how sending her to Bigg Boss 16 did her more harm than good. He said, “I have raised Sumbul in a protective environment. When the offer came, I thought it would be a great means to let her understand duniyadari (world politics). Neither I nor Sumbul has followed the show, and I never realized that something like this will happen. Today, I regret that I chose to send my daughter to the show. It did more harm to her than favor.”

Furthermore, he said that he doesn’t want Sumbul Touqeer Khan’s fans to vote for her. He said, “I know there are people who love her but I think it’s time she should be out. The girl who is in the house is not my daughter. She has lost her positivity and happiness. I don’t want her to go through any grief again. I would thus request her fans to not vote for her. I am praying she gets evicted this Saturday.”

The Article 15 actress’ father also added that because of his ill health and emotions running high, he regrets using some harsh words for Tina Datta. Sumbul Touqeer Khan’s father went on to say that he is ready to apologize to the Uttaran actress and her mother for the same. For the unversed, Tina’s mother had also shared a video wherein she was lashing out at Sumbul’s father to use such derogatory language against her daughter.
